Cambrooks College’s accelerated Diploma in Massage Therapy in Calgary provides students with a comprehensive clinical education aimed at developing versatile massage therapists who are able to practice in a wide range of medical and therapeutic settings, collaborating with many different health practitioners to improve health, rehabilitate acute injuries, and manage complex chronic conditions. As a student at Cambrooks College, you will gain in-depth knowledge in massage therapy theory and hands-on professional experience in our state-of-the-art facilities, which include specialized massage therapy tables and exercise equipment. You will develop knowledge and skills that will allow you to successfully conduct a systematic patient assessment, develop treatment plans, deliver safe and effective treatment, and evaluate the outcome. You will also learn how to run a successful business in this diverse field of massage therapy, which has thousands of years of history as a healing modality.
Our 2200 hour massage therapy program is accredited by the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada Association (NHPCA).
Massage therapists with 1100-hour certificate can upgrade their education to a 2200-hour diploma by applying for credit for courses already taken.
Clinical Practice
Since Cambrooks’ diploma in Massage Therapy offers a unique blend of scientific theory and clinical practice, we teach a variety of soft tissue manipulation techniques applied to the assessment and treatment of stress, pain and a variety of medical conditions. Courses in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, and communication guarantee a foundation of clinical knowledge that will carry you through dynamic experiences in and professional practice at Cambrooks College’s public massage clinic.
The Massage Therapy diploma is licensed by government and graduates are eligible to become a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) through the provincial associations.
Program Flexibility and Start Dates
Our program is very flexible to accommodate your life and work. Students can choose full-time or part-time (evenings and weekends).
The Diploma Program is offered full- and part-time, and can be started in the fall semester (September) or winter semester (January). Please contact us or complete the application for the next admission.
Admission Requirements
General Admission
All students must complete a successful interview with the college to determine suitability for the program of interest
Other requirements include:
English (grade 12) and math (grade 10) or equivalent from another province, as verified by transcripts
or GED (score of 450 in LA and 400 in Math)
Must be 18 years of age or older or 17 years of age with a high school diploma
Mature Student Admission
You could be admitted as a mature student based on the following requirements:
Minimum age 25
The satisfactory result on an equivalency test
The candidate should obtain a 60% in the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test administered by the College.
International Students Admission
Transcripts from home country with results equivalent to standard admission requirements
If ESL, must meet ESL requirements
Evidence of English (E.G. ESL, TOEFL) may be required and the student may be required to take the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. In such a situation, the candidate must score a minimum of 60% in each of the verbal and quantitative skills for the WBST.
